After working with Mystery Stories, we started reading Science Fiction ones and discussed the general characteristics that this kind of productions have.
Now look at this cartoon and discuss whether it is Science Fiction or Fantasy. Do not forget to account for your answers.

Miss Sami: I think that is science fiction because the aliens talk, there is a UFO, there are aliens and the aliens want to eat the food of the humans.

I think this is Science fiction because is something scientifically posible. However, fiction isn't scientifically posible. For example: The inmortallity is imposible and flying too.

I think that it is a science fiction story because it isn't happening now but it could happen in the future, that the aliens came in a UFO is rekated to science.
For me, this cartoon is a science fiction cartoon because nobody is imagining this.
I think it’s science fiction because in the sci-fi stories there are usually aliens, or monsters or UFOs .If it were a fantasy story, there would be unicorns, fairies, dwarfs and some other creatures.

This image is Sience Fitction, because there are aliens. Aliens are creatures from Science Fiction stories because in Science Fiction stories there are things that can't happen now but maybe can happen with advances in tehnology, aliens are creatures that we don´t know if they exist now but maybe we´ll know they exist later.
It´s not Fantasy because in Fantasy stories magical things happen that we know for sure they don't exist.

I think it’s science fiction because in the picture there are aliens talking in a park of a house. If it were a fantasy picture, there will be fairies, unicorns etc.
